29.06.2026
Learn the proven framework to price hair services for profit and hit $15K+ months working part-time.
Most hairstylists don’t know how to price hair services for profit. And I get it. No one taught you how to.
So you guess. You charge what feels safe. What other salons charge, or what the industry average for your area charges.
Then you’re booked solid, exhausted, and still somehow…broke.
You’re making around $7-$8k a month but somehow you feel like you have no money.
Your skills aren’t the problem. You just don’t have the right structure.
I went from $750 days to $1,500+ days by learning one thing. How to work backwards from an income goal into actual numbers. Not emotions, not fear of losing clients. Numbers.
I’ve watched my clients do the same, like Jess who doubled her revenue and hit her firs $20k month all while working one less day in salon.
I went from $8k months to $16k months working only 2 days a week!
We didn’t work harder, we just had a strategy.
If you’re tired of undercharging and want to know exactly how to price your hair services so you can hit $15k months working part-time, keep reading.
The proven framework for how to price hair services for profit
STEP 1: SET YOUR ANNUAL REVENUE GOALS
Most hairstylists never write down how much money they want to make. But they know what they’re making is not enough, they just don’t know how to get where they want to go.
Here’s the first step. You need a number. What do you want to earn annually?
$180,000? $150,000? $200,000? Pick one.
If you don’t know, start here. What would change in your life if you made $15,000 per month? That’s $180,000 per year. Could you work fewer days? Pay off debt? Stop stressing about rent? Invest your money? Go on the dream holiday you’ve been putting off? Buy your dream property?
It’s time to write that number down and make it real.
Most of my clients land on $180,000 because that’s $15,000 per month. Some want $120,000. Some want $260,000. The exact number doesn’t matter yet. What matters is that you stop guessing and start being intentional.
Your annual revenue goal is the foundation of everything that comes next. Without it, you’re pricing blind. With it, you have a target.
Write your number down right now. Don’t overthink it.
STEP 2: REVERSE ENGINEER YOUR GOAL
Now you have a number. $180,000 a year. $150,000. $200,000. Whatever you chose.
Here’s the problem. Your brain can’t wrap around it. It feels abstract because it’s never been there before.
We need to make it real for your brain to get on board, or else your brain will find ways for why this type of money isn’t for you. So, we reverse engineer it.
I know $180,000 annually sounds like a big goal if you’ve been hitting $80-$90K. But $15,000 per month? That’s more manageable. And $3,750 per week? Even better. Now you’re getting somewhere.
Here’s what most hairstylists don’t realize. If you want to make $180,000 annually, you need to know what that looks like on a daily, weekly and monthly.
Let’s say you work 2 days a week. That means you work about 8 days per month. To hit $180,000, you need to make $1,875 per day.
Work 3 days a week? You need to make $1,250 per day.
Work 5 days a week? You need to make $750 per day.
You’re not just pricing blindly anymore. You know exactly what your targets are to hit your dream income.
STEP 3: CALCULATE YOUR SERVICE COSTS
Most hairstylists have no idea what their services actually cost them.
They know they spend money on product. On tools. On supplies. But they’ve never sat down and actually looked at the numbers.
This is where the clarity comes in.
When you know your service costs, you see what’s really happening in your business. You see that a balayage could cost you anywhere from $40 to $60 depending on the product you use. If you’re charging $350 for a balayage and it costs you $50 in product, and it takes you 4 hours…you’re only making $75 (less taxes) per hour. If you’re charging $500 and product cost is $50, now you’re making around $110 per hour.
Knowing your numbers kills the guilt around emotional pricing.
Right now, my guess is you charge based on what feels comfortable, what sounds good, what you think people will pay or an industry and neighbourhood average. But when you know exactly what your service costs, you can price with confidence.
You’re not guessing anymore. You’re not second-guessing yourself when a client flinches at your price. You know the numbers. You know why you charge what you charge.
This is the difference between pricing out of fear and pricing out of clarity.
It is highly underrated and SO important.
STEP 4: PRICE YOUR HAIR SERVICES
Now you have everything you need. You know your annual goal, you know what that looks like per day and you know your service costs.
Here’s where it all comes together.
Let’s say you want to make $180,000 annually and work 3 days a week, you need to make $1,500 per day to hit that goal.
If you see 2-3 clients per day, your signature service (premium packages) needs to be priced at $500-750.
That’s it. That’s your anchor price.
You’re not pulling these numbers out of thin air anymore. You’re pricing based on what you actually need to earn.
This is how you stop undercharging and this is how you hit $15K+ months. And this is how you work 3 days a week instead of 6.
You price your hair services based on what you actually need to earn. Not what feels comfortable. Not what your competitors charge. What you need to hit your goals.
And real talk: higher prices call in aligned clients. Clients who respect your time, value your work, and trust your expertise. No more negotiating on price or trying to opt-out of a service. That’s what’s going to build your dream business.

REAL RESULTS: HOW JESS DOUBLED HER MONTHLY REVENUE AND HIT $20K MONTHS
Jess came to me feeling exhausted. After 15 years, she was making $10K per month, was booked solid, and totally burnt-out.
She had all the skills and an amazing clientele, but she was charging too low for her signature work and was still offering services that didn’t excite her.
She had a waitlist and was turning clients away, the perfect leverage to make big changes.
We sat down and went through this exact process, set her annual goal, reverse-engineered her daily target, and calculated her service costs. Then we priced her signature service packages accordingly and made them specifically for her dream clients. Plus, we automated her booking system.
Just a few months later, Jess hit her first $20K month. She doubled her revenue and she dropped Saturdays. She felt like she finally got her life back.
She’s not working harder. She’s working smarter, she has the numbers, she has the confidence. And now, she has the aligned clients who respect her pricing and her time.
This is what’s possible when you stop guessing and start using the proven framework.

That’s where I come in.
I work with hairstylists who are ready to stop being overworked and underpaid. Who want to hit $15K+ months while working less. Who are ready to build a business that actually works for them.
